Of course floors are one of the most important design elements in your home. Not only must they fit in with the design theme of your home, they need to be suitable for the location in the home. High traffic areas need flooring that is attractive, safe, and durable, while less-trafficked areas can be of materials that are not as durable, and possibly less expensive.
Below are a number of different types of floors; wood, engineered wood, stone, and tile. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
Don’t forget the usefulness of area rugs, either standard or custom. I frequently design custom area rugs to fit the style and colors of my client’s homes.
