AN ANNA RODÈ DESIGNS CLIENT’S HOME WAS FEATURED IN RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE, STAYCATION: LA JOLLA, AUGUST 2022
It’s not everyday when you get to see your client’s home inside of a magazine, so we were ecstatic when we saw this month’s issue of Ranch & Coast, San Diego’s luxury lifestyle magazine. The Davidsons are longtime clients and friends, and we’ve had the honor of helping them renovate their La Jolla home throughout the years. Most recently, we completed a renovation of the kitchen with a dine-in space (as seen on page 86) as well as living room update with a custom fireplace. Head on over to our blog to read the article and see all of the beautiful photos of their home that were featured in the publication.

Here is an excerpt from the article:
“Coleen created a beautiful yet functional kitchen that supports my love for cooking. Throughout the house, she pulled in different shades of blue in the furniture and custom rugs to match the tranquil outdoor environment. Lastly, she identified comfortable, yet elegant, sofas and chairs to sink into, where we can lay back to take in all the sights.”

THE SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE’S COASTAL HOME EDITION
Here is an excerpt from the article:
“Unlike any other room in the house, the bedroom is all yours. Compared with priorities for the kitchen or living room, choices for the bedroom are uniquely personal. We asked Coleen Choisser, certified interior designer and own of Anna Rodé Designs, about updating the bedroom.”

FAIRBANKS LIVING
Here is an excerpt from the article:
“We can’t help but notice that Coleen’s most distinguishing characteristics are her eye for color and style. Many of her designs have appeared in publications, both local and worldwide. Listening intently to clients, and finding ways to understand their likes and dislikes so that the end designs make them happy and satisfied are her first priority. Sometimes that requires negotiation, as when a husband and wife have different tastes, which requires paying attention to what is important to include in their design, such as favorite art or accessories, furniture, or colors.”

CARLSBAD LIFESTYLE
Here is an excerpt from the article:
“When pressed to choose her favorite project Choisser said: “My favorite design is the one I’ve just finished.” She did say that her recent remodel of the 1906 beach cottage in La Jolla whose photos are featured here, is a project she particularly enjoyed— in fact this last renovation is the third time she has remodeled that home. It went from a Tuscan styled home to a more modern contemporary beach feel that’s more minimalist with clean lines.”

SIGNATURE KITCHENS & BATHS
Here are excerpts from the article:
“Empty nesters who enjoy nothing more than setting out the welcome mat for family and friends, these California homeowners longed for a modern, sophisticated culinary aesthetic. They wanted to incorporate their zeal for cooking and for entertaining family, which grew by two grandchildren during the project. Since a hear-round alfresco lifestyle is intrinsic to the San Diego climate, the home’s entire first floor was redesigned by Coleen Choisser of Anna Rode’ Designs to blur the distinction between indoors and outdoors. Two large sliding doors were added to seamlessly merge the kitchen and family room with a patio space that carries a similar motif.
“The clients hired Kennedy of Kitchen and Bath Experts, Inc., to provide the high degree of custom refinement and installation needed as the kitchen cabinetry is the central focus of the entire design. The warm tone of birds-eye maple cabinetry nicely offsets the floors, marble fireplace surround, counters, and backsplash — all of which are done in high gloss shades of black and gray.”
