FAIRBANKS LIVING

We are so thrilled to announce that we are featured in the June 2017 edition of Fairbanks Living that features one of our very favorite home remodels!

Here is an excerpt from the article:

We can’t help but notice that Coleen’s most distinguishing characteristics are her eye for color and style. Many of her designs have appeared in publications, both local and worldwide. Listening intently to clients, and  finding ways to understand their likes and dislikes so that the end designs make them happy and satisfied are her  first priority. Sometimes that requires negotiation, as when a husband and wife have different tastes, which requires paying attention to what is important to include in their design, such as favorite art or accessories, furniture, or colors.”

SAN DIEGO LIVING

The living room shown on the cover of this issue is in the home of one of her Rancho Santa Fe, California clients. The liberal use of mirrors in this home increases its apparent size and capitalizes on the outstanding view. The rug was designed using custom colors to match the client’s new crimson chairs, and provides a soft and warm contrast to the beautiful marble floor. The look was also updated by recovering several pieces of existing furniture, including the beautiful antique walnut chairs in the zebra print.

SIGNATURE KITCHENS & BATHS

I’m very pleased that one of my recent kitchen designs was published in a national magazine that reviews the best “ideas from today’s top designers.” Out of the 38 designs shown in this issue, only two are from Southern California!
This kitchen was actually part of the entire home design I did for this client. The clean design is modern without being cold.

Here are excerpts from the article:

“Empty nesters who enjoy nothing more than setting out the welcome mat for family and friends, these California homeowners longed for a modern, sophisticated culinary aesthetic. They wanted to incorporate their zeal for cooking and for entertaining family, which grew by two grandchildren during the project. Since a hear-round alfresco lifestyle is intrinsic to the San Diego climate, the home’s entire first floor was redesigned by Coleen Choisser of Anna Rode’ Designs to blur the distinction between indoors and outdoors. Two large sliding doors were added to seamlessly merge the kitchen and family room with a patio space that carries a similar motif.

“The clients hired Kennedy of Kitchen and Bath Experts, Inc., to provide the high degree of custom refinement and installation needed as the kitchen cabinetry is the central focus of the entire design. The warm tone of birds-eye maple cabinetry nicely offsets the floors, marble fireplace surround, counters, and backsplash — all of which are done in high gloss shades of black and gray.”
